After easing my way into these series of posts related to the #BBloggers and #FBloggers world I decided to step up my game and challenge myself with a Question about something I have no idea about. The last post, which if you haven't read yet Click HERE and catch up, had myself explaining the obvious use for certain products. Apparently I got them correct, or Kind of, which made me a little bit smug......although a Guy being smug about the use of primer isn't something I ever thought would happen.
So, after breezing into the world, I had the following tweet from @BloomingBoo
So 2 Questions in 1 here! But I will focus on the first one. Ombre is something to do with Hair. Its a colour or something and also a could be Spanish Alcoholic Drink which I think I drank far too much of during a holiday abroad!
Now I will be honest with you this is alien to me. I ain't got the foggiest what a bloody Contouring is. If you asked me what I initially thought Contouring is, I'd probably say He was an Italian football player for AC Milan......................Don't go! Stay! Sorry for the football reference, come back.....It won't happen again.....Promise...........Maybe..............Ok..........So Contouring!
Now I have very limited knowledge of what contouring is, purely based on the fact its something you would use to describe sculpting something. So applying this term to a lady who does it during her make up routine must mean the same sort of thing, right? Hell, I was pretty spot on with the whole primer thing I'm gonna stick to being blatantly obvious with these terms.
Contouring would then be used for a woman to sculpt her face? I am going to go out on a limb and say not physically. I doubt a woman spends hours moulding her face like a play doh model or Katie Price!. It must be something to do with using lights and shades to sculpt a certain shape and define features. ( I think i'm doing alright here, I can hear some of you gasping at my knowledge! *Not really, thats impossible, this is a blog, I can't hear or see you at all, just to be clear on that* )
I have seen many a woman use a technique like this in order to make their cheeks stand out, which I have a bit of a concern with. I'm all for lovely cheekbones on a lady, I really am, some ladies are born with them and now it seems some Ladies create them. BUT I have seen some examples of sculpted cheek bones that make women look Gaunt and Skeleton like, as they are going to a fancy Dress party as a Drag Queen. I Believe Kim Kard-ASS-ian uses this method ALL the time!
Is the secret in the blending of it properly so it enhances the cheekbones and shape of your face? I'm asking a lot more Questions in this aren't I? There you go, that was another one wasn't it? Oh Fu-....
I remember seeing Boy George Contour his Chin so it hid his fat neck! But it was simply painting his neck black! Surely that doesn't count! But Contouring is used a lot to make faces look thinner I think, something I am pretty sure Adele has used before for her Glamorous Outings.
I Love the idea of contouring, I Might need to do a Boy George and start hiding my double chin.
So, How right am I? Knowing me I just got this entire post wrong and everybody here reading it is simply banging their heads into their keyboards as they read this. And in turn contouring a keyboard shape into their face.
Until next time. Feel Free to leave comments on any future topics you would like me to discuss.
