The Third (#3) Post in this series of Posts where I challenge myself to try and understand the world of #BBloggers and even #FBloggers. Click HERE to read the Previous Entries if you haven't.
After the success of the previous Beauty themed posts, I thought I would move into a more fashion oriented place.
I Received the following tweet from Blogger @PetiteSal
So I Guess I should discuss Leggings. Obviously I know what Leggings are, It's not rocket science, so this post isn't going to be about me trying to guess what part of the body they are meant to be worn ( although I have seen some very drunken ladies in Chelmsford City wear some things on their heads that shouldn't be ) or the best places to purchase a lovely pair of leggings ( Apparently Primark sell these sorts of items for less than the price of a pint! ).
I Shall discuss what my view on the whole Leggings craze is. I mean leggings are NOT Tights apparently, That I have been told but I have seen my fair share of women wear them on their own and you would think they were tights! I mean if they say they can be worn by themselves as a form of trousers who am I to argue? If some women who wear these Leggings that show me what colour underwear she is wearing, then Fine! Keep doing it love! I'm not judging! You look fine!....................Love your Knickers by the way!
Leggings seem to be a trend that suits a lot of women, simply because it shows of their legs without showing too much. The whole Leggings and Heels combo is a great look! I'm not being patronising, I generally like this look. It's a look that seems to look casual and smart at the same time.
Now I'm pretty much talking about Black leggings, what I should discuss is Animal printed leggings and Neon Coloured ones.
OK, Don't get me wrong, I respect ANY thing people want to wear, BUT Animal print anything doesn't impress me. It is such a tacky look in my opinion that reminds me of QVC Dog Throws, The 1980's and Caravan owners. Is it me or do they look cheap? probably just me and before I get any Hate mail ( which I reckon I will soon, as I begin to push my luck with these posts ) I am not saying you shouldn't wear animal print leggings..................I'm saying it looks horrible. Sorry Just my thoughts, the whole skin tight clothing that resembles some kind of tiger or leopard reeks of tackiness.
As for Neon Leggings, Well I am the complete opposite! I LOVE Neon colours for anything. I myself own plenty of Bright Colourful Neon Clothes from T shirts to Jumpers to even the odd pair of pants! ( sorry for that bit of Too much information, But I Love a Bright neon Green pair of Keck's ) When I see any type of Neon clothing it reminds me of Bubblegum, The 90's and Raves! I Think the whole trend of neon colours look awesome and shows off the quirkiness of someone's personality. As for Leggings in Neon colours : LOVE it, I think it looks hot, especially if they are worn with heels. I remember the band The Saturdays use to wear different Neon colours alot and that's when I personally saw a re-surgence of the neon coloured craze. Whenever have been to Festivals in the Summer, Neon Colours swamped the crowds, Now when I go out into the towns I see the Neon Leggings, Tights, Trousers and tops dominate the dance floor.
So what I'm trying to say is this: Leggings are a great way for you ladies to show off your pins as long as you steer away from the animal print..................Reminds me too much of Thundercats.
Hope You are enjoying my series of Posts. Please feel free to leave me your thoughts below and even a Tweet at @BarkerPODcasts
A great view again on the weird things we women do! Hahaha the animal print reminds you of Thundercats? They remind me of Peggy Bundy, from Married with Children. It's just too tacky. Neon leggings are okay, but can you imagine those two things combined? Like a neon animal print.. Oh Lord have mercy
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for mentioning me! X
Haha I've seen neon leopard print on some girls. Too much. Haha
DeletePeg bundy!!! Yes!!
I love animal print but not on leggings.. Mind you, I don't like leggings, so that's probably why!

Thank you for reading glad u enjoyed. Hopefully you'll stick around x
DeleteHAHA another awesome post, you hit the nail on the head there with the animal print. I think leggings should only be worn by certain people, like most things not everyone can pull them off!!!

I'm hitting the nail on the head alot here haha. Yeah People are trying to tell me animal print is nice, but still can't stand it ha
DeleteI think weight limits on wearers, as well as spandex content of leggings were two very important points that you didn't touch on. Also, the big booty gals are fine, but to us flat-assed gals, there are way more rules when it comes to leggings. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are spot on x it's certain shaped bottom halves that can make leggings work. If I ever had to wear them I could get away as I got nice legs but I have loads of girls telling me they lack
DeleteArse to pull them off. :-)
I really do think it's about how it's done and if it's done well! I like animal print to some extent in other garments, but not so much you resemble Kat Slater. Despite my dislike for tacky animal print caravan owner leggings, I think I'd much rather see them styled well (if possible) than see really thin black leggings used as trousers with mighty unattractive knickers on show *shudders* xx
ReplyDeleteyeah i agree, certain leggings should be treated as tights x
