Curiosity Killed the Ditz #12: Why Do Expectations Exist for Strangers?

Lifestyle Blogger @DitzwitDtits asks WHY do Expectations Exist for strangers?

Why; the three little words that haunt my existence. From the moment I could speak I always wanted to know why. Now as an adult I am finding less and less people that want to answer my questions. I have been called nosy or weird, and angered many a person, with just those 3 letters. This is my story, quest you could call it, to try and find answers to my Whys.

Why Do Expectations Exist for Strangers?

When we meet someone, online especially, before they say hi, already there are expectations. If I don't see their face in their avatar (AVI), they must be hiding something. If they want to Kik, they want to have sex with me. But is that really the case?

We walk into these situations with preconceived notions that more often than not are untrue. Here are some more... (Please note, I am only using these stereotypes to prove a point, I do not believe them)

I'm single (Man) = Married with 10 kids
I'm single (Woman) = Crazy
Pet Pics (Man) =Desperate
Pet Pics (Woman) = Crazy
My Kids, My Weather, My Health = Belongs on FB
I'm happy, I love Life = Suicidal or soon to be a victim of homicide
Hot Babe shares all your interest= Cat Fish
Lets Skype= Sex
Lets Snap Chat= Sex
Kik= Sex
DM= Sex
@= Sex

Huh, I see a trend. We are wwwwaaaaayyyy to full of ourselves. Not everyone wants to have sex with you, me on the other hand...nah I am just kidding. Seriously though, we do need to check ourselves. I have found so many amazing friends, and I do mean friends, on twitter. People who look for me, ask about me, care about me. People who know more than most of my "RL" friends. I would never have met them if I didn't take a chance. Some of them I don't even know their real name. Doesn't make them any less real to me.

Moral of this story, You are to me who you protray yourself to be. I don't care about "RL" unless that is where I know you. If you are an AVI Animal and I enjoy talking with you, so be it.

Try to shed those stereotypes people and reach out to someone you have been avoiding unfairly. You may be missing out, or you may just get a great dick/tit pic. Woo Hoo..

Keep questioning.

Love,

DD

  1. So very very true. Too many of us don't take the chance to just meet someone, to get to know a person.
    I've met more friends on twitter & made relationships flourish thanks to KIK & Skype. My only expectations when meeting someone are simple: get to understand the individual & appreciate them.
    Very good why! Let's um, meet up via Skype, or KIK....
