Films of your life is a series of posts where certain people get a chance to tell us a little about the films that have affected their lives. I have asked people from the Film world, other bloggers and people associated with the Podcasts.

In todays Films of your life #FOYL I asked Erv from The Dicks N Cider Podcast. Part of the Pod Gods Network. Follow Erv on twitter @DicksNCiderShow

A Film from your Childhood that sticks with you
I was fortunate enough to grow up during a great time for movies, being born 1978 allowed me to grow up quickly with movies that were made just before I was born to puberty.  The movie that has stuck with me through my childhood is the first scary movie I ever saw. I was 9 years old and I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. From leather-face to his hanger scratching brother, that movie has stuck with me since that day. I will never forget the night because I was in a room with my mother and 5 of her friends. She is only 17 years older than me so they were all in there late 20's. I remember turning around when Leathe-Face was chasing the radio DJ, (With the smoken legs) into a cooler and seeing my mother hiding under the blanket. Ever since then I have always enjoyed a great horror, massacre, slaughter type film. Left a big impression on me.

A Film that you could watch on a loop
I have 2 answers for this one, but I will narrow it down to one. Another great childhood movie..... The Goonies. I do believe that is enough said....... but I will elaborate. This movie is everything right with my childhood. From having to deal with the older family member and friends to being able to take our bikes and ride anywhere and everywhere we wanted. The adventures I had were no where near as big as the movies, but it always felt that big when we were doing them. The movie influences in that movie as well, it seemed that every movie we ever watched as a child stuck with us, influenced in subliminal ways. Nothing now days, unless it is an animated film does that with kids.

A Film that still makes you cry
what sappy ass film doesn't. I think growing up with just my mother for the 1st 10 years really made me into a sensitive human being. I have always enjoyed a good drama, romance film. From movies, to even music, but that is another conversation that will go on and on. ;) To answer the question though, I do believe that in the film Practical Magic, where Aidan Quinns character confronts Sandra Bullock's character about believing gets me every time.  I think it is her reaction and emotion that gets me.

A Film you would most like to have been the main character in
What a question!..........I think I try to see myself in every character of any movie I see. To try to relate to the story line and where the director is going. That is what makes this Question so hard. I would love to see myself as the main character in many an adventure, but I would have to say that Legend Of The Fall would be it. Brad Pitts character. I really connected with that character and his personality. Fuck that is a hard one, so many direction one could go.

A Film that you love but others hate
I really do not have an answer for that. Most of the time I watch movies alone, due to the weird shit that gets my goat. I know one everyone likes but I do not, Forest Gump! but the other way around?......humph........Star wars episode 1,2 & 3 i guess. Shit answer, but an answer.
