1940's Wonder Woman reacts to the NEW Wonder Woman Outfit

by
So, recently, the new look Wonder Woman outfit was unveiled to thousands of sweaty, over excited and horny geeks at San Diego Comic Con. In the upcoming "Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice" Gal Gadot holds the responsibility of bring this much loved and well known comic book hero to life on the big screen.
Some People have moaned about the outfit, which is hilarious to hear fat, bearded men (much like myself) get irate over fashion.

I think there is only one person who is entitled to have an opinion on the latest outfit.......The Original 1940's Wonder Woman!

So with the power of blogging, time travellings, the ability to talk to a fictional 2D cartoon drawing and a very small amount of imagination plus mind altering substances, Here is what 1940's Diana AKA Wonder Woman had to say about the new outfit.

  • Oh dear, there seems to be a lot of womanly flesh on show here. Please grab a coat dear, you'll catch a cold. Wonder Women never catch colds, they cause sneezing and snotting and they in turn ruin the flawless make up we always have.
  • I sure hope you are wearing big hot pants underneath that very tiny and raggedy excuse of a skirt. A Woman of wonder doesn't show her lasso off so easily. You are not Catwoman, that slut shows far too much puss.
  • Now what is with the dark moody colours? Women of Wonder are meant to be bright and colourful. Reds, Whites and Blue are perfect colours to represent your power.....plus I am sure we have a deal with USA to promote their flag
  • Where are the sparkles? I see not sparkles young lady. A Wonder Woman without sparkles is like Captain America without his shield or Superman without his underwear over his suit. Grab some sparkles girl and liven this get up right now. Sparkly pants are always in fashion.
  • Why are you standing so close to this volcano or erupting thing? Wonder Woman doesn't play with fire. she defeats everything with Love and compassion. This is not a suitable place for a Wonder Woman to stand and pout. This is such an instagram pose........I don't even know what instagram is....I am from the 1940's.....but it looks like it belongs there.
  • Is that a sword in your hand? Dear lord, put that down before you hurt somebody. Go grab the Lasso of Truth and be a lady for once. Dam, children and their toys
  • Why aren't you smiling? A Woman of Wonder never frowns. Put that wonder smile to good use. You are a lady for crying out loud.
  • What is with these Hooker Boots? You'll never catch villians in those. The only thing you'll catch is a baby....after all the men you will end up sleeping with because they will think you are a whore......a Whore in Hooker boots......Replace them with knee length boots right this minute.
  • Please cover yourself up! This is not Playboy! You should be ashamed of yourself.....you hussy!
So There you go. A Few comments made by the original Wonder Woman from the 1940's.
What do you think of the Outfit? Do you care? You shouldn't you know, it's just an outfit on a character that will probably be one of many during the films. And even if you have a problem with the outfit, it's not going to change anything, so probably best to just accept it and move on.

Let's all go and complain about the way The Thing looks in the new Fantastic Four. Apparently he ain't rocky enough or some shit.

#NOTlistenings Flying Circus (Monty Python Special)

by

"...And Now for something completely different..."
Monty Python RIP! The Legends of comedy bowed out in fashion at London's O2 recently and one of podcasting crew was lucky enough to see it LIVE. Ash managed to get tickets and be part of the thousands of punters who enjoyed the Python crews final ever performances.....EVER!

In | The #NOTlistening Podcast Ep.142 - #NOTlistenings Flying Circus | we sit down and chatted about the genius that are Monty Python. We discussed what the LIVE stage show was like, talked about Will's early memories of watching "Live at the Hollywood Bowl" and being able to recite the sketches word for word.
Don't you hate people that can recite things word for word, especially as you are watching said show and they treat it as a chance to impress you with a running commentary and it's not impressive.....it's mildly annoying.....so stop it!.....thank you.

In the podcast episode, which I hope you are listening to right now!.......No? Download it here NOW!.....Got it? Good.......anyway in the episode we even discuss some of the great moments of Python which even included some songs littered with some of the most UN-PC lyrics ever!
*Warning. The Podcast contains language and songs some people might find offensive.....Especially if you don't understand the context of them*

So to accompany the podcast episode.....PRESS PLAY! .....I have shared some of my favourite Python videos that somebody has (no doubt illegally) uploaded to You Tube.

The #NOTwatching Podcast #22 - Orange is the New Black, Inside Llewyn Davis, Blue Ruin & more!

by

On this show we dig into a whole bunch of things we’ve been watching over the past couple of months... In TV we take a look at the latest season of Orange is the New Black and AMC’s new period piece, Halt & Catch Fire. We also pay our belated respects to the late great Rik Mayall who will be very sorely missed :( (we recorded this almost a month ago!). Then we talk about a whole bunch of movies, including the sleeper indie smash, Blue Ruin, the Branagh directed (and starring) Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Coming of Age hits; The Kings of Summer, The Way, Way Back & Mud, The Coen’s Inside Llewyn Davis and Denis Villeneuve and Jake Gyllenhaal’s follow up to Prisoners, Enemy.

BBC Three's Rude Boys

by
BBC Three, you know that channel that is being placed online only very soon, has some brand new comedy pilots for you to watch. I love comedy and love to see up and coming writers and performers apply their trade to brand new material.
"Comedy Feeds" showcase is every year and lets you watch some pilots that, if received well by the public, could be commissioned for a full series run.

Some of this years entries are very strong. From "In Deep" a comedy about two coppers out of their depth starring Ashley Walters and Adam Deacon to "Jenny Bede: AAA" a parody sketch show from a You Tube sensation who sends up celebs from Miley Cyrus to Mumford and Sons.

The One Comedy Pilot I was really impressed with was "Rude Boys" starring and co written by Jazzie Zonzolo (Anuvahood) which can only be described as an East End version of "The InBetweeners".

WATCH THE PILOT HERE on the BBC iPlayer

I was made aware of this pilot through up and coming actress Nalan Burgess, a Friend of the podcast and extremely lovely person. She told me about her work on the show and I thought I should give the pilot a look in.
I really enjoyed the comedy in this show, in particular the interactions of the characters whose banter is pretty spot on and hilarious. I am a massive fan of the banterish comedy just like "The Inbetweeners" and "Men Behaving Badly". "Rude Boys" fits well into the loser-lads bracket. A Story of guys who amongst their friends are the coolest people on earth, but to the outside world, they are proper losers.

The cast are great. Jazzie (Jazzie Zonzolo) is a great lead. His pathetic "rude boy" attitude is a great character trait to use. Bolts (Amir El-Masry) and Sajid (Harman Singh) have some great banter and put downs on each other, especially regarding their religious/ethnic background.

"Your dad worked in a Kebab shop"
"yeah, cooking for terrorists"

is just one of some very witty back and forths. The character of Webby (Ethan Lawrence) was one that made me crack up. The idiot, the fool, the ultimate comic releif pays off brilliantly. Webby reminds me of a friend I know and that made the whole character set up even better.

Yes the show has some very basic and familar set ups and does resemble the formulaic situations that many sitcoms do, but thats not to say it isn't clever with the comedy. It's not too ambitious but the characters fit the surroundings of East London. The writing is snappy and pretty funny, so for a comedy that's a good thing surely.

I was able to talk to the lovely Nalan, who plays Bolts gorgeous sister Yaz, and she told me alitte about her role on "Rude Boys" she said

"I was put up for the role by my agent Nancy Hudson. I was down to the last two, at the recall and then offered the role. It was brilliant working with all the guys on set, we had a read through, then a couple of days rehearsal and shot the following week. I've never had so much fun on a set or got on so well with a TV/film cast.

They are Naturally funny guys, even the crew didn't mind us having a laugh whilst on set, and even joined in! We've since been on trips to Nandos as well as a weekend of shenanigans in Birmingham. We'd love to carry on working with each other for a series.
I think the originality of Rude Boys gives a true representation of the ethnic mix in London. Every one of us in the cast are friends with people from multiple backgrounds, and it's not often you see that on TV. I think it will mostly appeal to teenagers and young people internationally, without alienating an adult audience too"

The future of the show pretty much lies in the hands of the public. If the can gather some great buzz and feedback then I am sure Nalan can continue her Nando's trips with the guys.

Check it out and see what you think.

Thanks for the Support Nalan!

The #NOTplaying Podcast #38 - Betrayer, Radial G, World of Warcraft & Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag!

by

On this week’s show it’s once again very much all about what we haven’t not been playing (Nope, that joke will never get old :S). Rob’s been battling his way through his Summer Steam Sale Haul, Adam’s been getting to grips with Assassin’s Creed for the first time (in both single player AND multiplayer), Patrick’s been whizzing around a VR pipe in Radial G and Iain’s retreated back to Azeroth. Again. There might not be any games coming out right now, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to play! Far from it in fact - enjoy another jam-packed game-filled #NOTplaying Podcast!

Screaming with Lauren Reid aka Scream Queen Lauren

by
Over the years of podcasting and being a general chatty bastard on social networking, I have met and chatted to some great, entertaining and interesting people. Some have been in an industry that needs support from people like myself and some are simply people who do the same sort of bloggy/podding/chatty stuff that I do

*  Bloggy/Podding/Chatty stuff is a technical term us writey/recordy/talky people use
**Writey/recordy/talky is an official name us Creatist.......Oh you get the fucking point

Anyway, for the latest #NOTlistening Podcast Episode | Ep.141 - Screaming with Lauren | I was able to get a good online friend of mine, and fellow podcaster, Lauren Reid to have a quick Google Hangout chat with me and have a little chin wag about her creative ventures.

Lauren is actually an avid You Tuber and does weekly videos and vlogs that range from talking about "Horror" films, What is going on in her life, rants and raves about certain subjects and generally anything she fancies being creative and vocal about - She records it!.

I met Lauren via another great podcaster and general all round social media hound Stu Bannerman from The "From Page2Screen" media empire! This guy does podcasts and runs a website that dedicates a lot of his time to supporting UK film! This guy does the whole support thing ten times better than I do. Me and him can both be a screening of an Independent UK film and we'd both approach it differently.
Stuart would get involved with the cast and crew and really get to know how the film was made, the aspects of the film making process, understand the cast and crews future and past projects.....whereas I would go and get drunk, watch the film, chat to Rita Ramnani, drink some more, stumble home on the last train home, wake up with a hangover, go to work, get home and record a podcast talking about how I went to a film screening and needed to piss for 90 minutes.

That is not to say I am not supporting these talented people, it's just I am simply a fool when allowed out in public. Stuart takes this on with a more mature and professional approach.....and I both admire and respect him for that.

Anyway, back to Lauren. I met her through Stuart as she does the "From Page2Scream" Podcast with him and Stu Miller. The show is "Horror" Film based and Lauren gets to geek out about her dark, dark side which is frankly a joy to hear.
A Side note about that Podcast and Stu Miller........This guy has been watching horror films since he was sperm!........Just thought I would let you know that.

I love chatting to people like Lauren. She is a young girl with a wise and mature head on her shoulders. She seems to have a very very open view of the world and really respects and appreciates the uniqueness of people out there. Her video's are very entertaining and she is a naturally warm person.
During the podcast.....which I fucking hope you have either downloaded HERE or pressed play on the player..........we had a great chat about her psychopathic tendencies...........Just listen, you'll understand.

Anyway, I could natter away and big up this online friend of mine but Just listen to the podcast and watch her videos.

Stay on her Good side too.........

White Collar Hooligan 3: Revenge in Rio

by
If you are a regular listener/reader of the world of #NOTlistening ( or even stuck around since the ODDcast days ) then you would know who Writer/Director Paul Tanter is and are aware of his series of films including "White Collar Hooligan 1 and 2" and "He Who Dares".
Well Paul is back with his latest Screen offering "White Collar Hooligan 3: Revenge in Rio" which picks up after the death of a certain character at the end of WCH2.

The European Artwork

Before you read on Watch the Trailer for "White Collar Hooligan 3: Revenge in Rio"

So SHOCK HORROR!! Mike is dead! Mike (Nick Nevern) seems to have been killed off in a shock (and brave) move from the creators. After killing off Katie (Rita Ramnani) at the end of WCH2, it seems Paul as a writer isn't afraid to make bold and shocking choices with his characters. So with 2 key members of the original two movies gone, what now?
Well, The ever dependable Simon Phillips reprises his role as Eddie and Rising Star Josh Meyers steps in to help find the killer of Mike. This film seems to take the two on a mission across Russia and even ending up in Rio! A very fitting setting considering the World Cup has just dominated our lives.

Obviously, I have only seen the Trailer so I have about as much information as you at the moment, but I am really looking forward to this next instalment in the franchise.
Also reprising their roles from previous movies are Rebecca Ferdinando (The Last Scout, Outside Bet, Get Lucky) who plays "Nicey Pricey" and Vas Blackwood (Lock Stock, Mean Machine) so the connections and narrative is sure to continue and I am sure there are plenty of twists and turns to come.

I await this movie with the idea that we are going to be surprised, shocked and enthralled. Paul Tanter is one of the UK's ever improving film makers and with the help of Simon Phillips and the British talent on screen I am sure this will be another enjoyable Tanter film. I am a fan of his work and I am sure this will be another great film to sit back and enjoy.

Once the film is out, I hope to chat more with some of the guys involved and bring more info to you via a podcast or another article.

The Film is OUT ON 28th JULY 2014. Seek it out!

The #NOTplaying Podcast #37 - Alien: Isolation, Dragon Age: Inquisition and Google's Cardboard VR!

by
E3 is but a distant memory, the Steam Summer Sale has been and gone and while there aren’t any major releases coming out for the next 2 or 3 months, that’s not going to stop publishers trying to make you part with your cash upfront while you don’t have any games to buy right now. Or so it would seem in the case of Alien: Isolation, which offers the tantalising opportunity of reliving the horror of the original Alien Movie - with the original cast providing voice-over - to those willing to put their confidence in the game so far out from release, even though the publisher seemingly doesn’t have enough confidence in it themselves to provide native VR support on day 1 or to sell it on it’s own merit even… anyway, that’s probably the biggest story we have this week, what with the summer drought being in full swing. There’s a bit of hardware/VR news though and we look at how the PS4/Xbox One Exclusives situation is panning out in the interest of having anything at all else to talk about… Enjoy!

A #NOTlistening #Selfie

by
I asked some awesome people online to help support the #NOTlistening website and podcasts by doing a #Selfie sign for me. The premise was simple.

- Write a sign saying "I'm @Twitterhandle and I'm #NOTlistening"
- Take a Photo of you holding it up to the camera
- Tweet it to @BarkerPODcasts

Simple as that! I asked a few friends of the podcast and website and they happily obliged. NOW I want YOU to do the same. It doesn't cost anything, nor that it actually mean anything, but it is all a bit of fun to keep the promotion going for the website and podcasts ( and pretty face too )

Join the #NOTlistening #Selfie gang and send over your best duck faces, poses, abuse or anything you can be creative with.

Here are some of the current #Selfies from some awesome people.
