The #NOTplaying Podcast #42 - Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow Realms & Michel Ancel's Wild

by

With Gamescom happening the other week we had so much news to talk about it ended up stretching across two whole episodes! We also had no Patrick this time, but Adam joined us towards the end of the episode to discuss Bioware's newly announced assymmetric action RPG, Shadow Realms and a few other things besides. Before that though was Microsoft's controversial exclusivity deal for Rise of the Tomb Raider and a whole bunch of exclusive new titles for the PS4 including Michel Ancel's Wild. Lucky for you this podcast isn't exclusive, or even less of you would be listening to it! We'll be back next week with even more on Gamescom. Until then, Enjoy!

#Mashion & #Meauty: The MTV VMA Red Carpet Review 2014

by
It's BACK! The #Mashion and #Meauty series that started way back when (Click HERE to read the Previous Entries if you haven't) and it somehow evolved into a series of popular "Red Carpet" reviews from recent events.
So last night was the MTV VMA2014 and the stars were out! Let's see what they wore on those plastic, surgery enhanced, walking instagram filter bodies of theirs.

1. Charlie XCX
Love this Girl! Love those  eyebrows! Love that hair! HATE that leopard/tiger thing she's got on! Not a fan of leopard print or anything similar as it reminds me too much of an 80's soap opera and this isn't the way a 20 something should look! Sort it out Charlie! shame on you!

2. Beyonce's Sister who punches people in Lifts
Solanga...Solan....Beyonce's sister from "Bring it on: All or Nothing" Looks like Diana Ross back in the 80's after she tried to escape her boyfriends apartment and could only borrow his clothes. Horrible outift! This is NOT a good start for todays #Mashion

3. Laverne Cox
This is much better! Classy, yet sexy! Good Old "OITNB" Laverne brings some style to the red carpet! Legs on show, bangs and shit, Model pose! Oi Charlie and Beyonces Sister! Take Note!

 4. That Girl I still don't know who she is, but sings with Iggy Azaela
This is what you get when you cross a sweet disney girl with a dominatrix and DON'T end up with Miley Cyrus! I actually like this, although the boots scare me, as I worry she will pin me down and take my money without rewards!

5. Nicki Minaj!
Gone is the crazy electronic, over the top, extravagant dresses and settling for this snake skin like dress! Massive fan of this girls recent transformation! Suits her! Bang Tidy!

6. Queen Iggy Azela
This girl can do NO WRONG in my eyes! Massive crush on her! She looks classy yet you know she's about the pop out some cray lyrics on yo' ass! Do Dis, Do Dat! I,GG,y! She does resemble the Death Star from Star Wars, but that only make's her more awesome!

7. The Swift
Loving this 70's jumpsuit Taylor has going on here! Even down to the hair! Actually she kind of looks like a boy trying to look like a 70's Glam Rock female!!.......I am so confused right now! But LOVE this! also, No camel toe!...Trust me I have looked! Well done!

8. Miley Cyrus
Has the "twerking Queen" started to dress more appropiately? I don't care what people say but I am simply fascinated by this celebrity creature. She can, in equal measures, annoy the shit out of me and also amaze me with her style and attitude. This one is right down the middle. I love it yet hate it! Why? I don't know, it's Miley! She confuses me

9. Jenny from the Block
WOW! How good does JLO look? Do we still call her JLO? isn't that a bit 1999? anyway! Amazing! Love this! and if I look this good when I am in my 40's then I will have a lot of explaining to do to my friends and family as to why I look like a latino women in her 40's!

10. That girl from that show!
I want to say this Demi Gomez, or Selina Lovato! eitherway I sat here staring at this dress and couldn't decide whether I LOVE it or find it WEIRD. There is something about the whole boobs on show, all shiny skin and leg bombing that is too much for me.....But I ain't complaining....or am I?.....I don't know

11. Somebody Jenner
Another one from the Kardashian family. Looks nice. can't be bothered to discuss her

12. Kim Kardashian
Yeah Kim, spent three hours getting ready tonight and left home without her dress, so borrowed her couch throw. Great boobs though!

13. Another Jenner/Kardashian Thing
Yawn! Model, whatever, bored!

14. Rita PHWOARA!
Finally my opinions on Rita Ora have changed! I now understand what she is all about!....I can't explain what it is, but I now know she oozes awesomeness and I am a massive fan! You go girl! Calvin Harris is a fool!!

15. Solange's Sister
Jay Z's Wife is one of those celebs that everyone creams over......well I ain't one of them! I was always a Michelle Williams fan anyway.......and she was the shit one. I don't GET the whole Beyonce thing......Although she looks nice here.....But she ain't no IGGY!!! BOOOOM! Do Dis! Do Dat!

So there you go! what do you think? do you agree? do you care? What's for dinner?

The #NOTwatching Podcast #24 - Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, The Raid 2, Begin Again & How to Train Your Dragon 2

by

This week's suitably feature-length show is the first one completely and utterly dedicated to movies! ...aside from a couple of bits of news regarding Comic Books, but what are Comic Books if they aren't storyboards for AAA Blockbuster movies anyway!?! We also discuss some of the trailers that dropped at the San Diego Comic Con a couple of weeks back, including Mad Max: Fury Road & Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, before finally talking about some of the movies we've seen recently. We kick things off with Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, move on into the uber-oriental-violence of The Raid 2 and Snowpiercer and then soar into the clouds with How to Train your Dragon 2. There really is something for everyone on this episode. So long as you like movies. or Comic Books... :P

The #NOTplaying Podcast #41 - Oculus Rift DK2, Elite: Dangerous Beta & The Wolf Among Us!

by

We actually had a whole bunch of games to discuss after the episode we skipped a couple of weeks ago, but well.. Patrick's Oculus Rift DK2 arrived so there was no escaping a conversation about that, which naturally led into the Elite: Dangerous Beta, the launch of which seems almost suspiciously coincidental. There was also just enough time at the end for a spoiler-free post-mortem on the recently wrapped The Wolf Among Us series from Telltale. And no - we haven't forgotten about Gamescom - we just haven't recorded our episode about that yet! So watch this space next week! Until then... Enjoy!

Be #BodyUNashamed

by
We all look at celebs and even people in the street and judge them. Don't say you never judge people because you do! DEAL WITH IT........Let me continue......We all judge people every day of our life, whether it be out loud to a friend or simply in your inner monologue of your head ( My inner monologue has 3 different voices. they switch between GERALD BUTLER, SETH ROGEN and DANNII MINOGUE.......Yes I am a fucking weirdo ).

Anyway, when I say we judge people and the way we look, we can sometimes judge them in a positive way.....See told you to deal with it........Sometimes we look at a celeb and their body and think/or say
"Wow, What a body"
or
"She/He Looks great!" ........When I said She/He I meant either, not an actual transgendered person......although there are some gorgeous people out there who are trans........yes DEAL with it!

So, recently a blogger I have gotten to know via twitter called Penny @Lilliesandlove has started up a #BodyUNashamed project/movement because she is sick and tired of seeing the media use "Body Shaming" as an acceptable way to portray people whether they be in the media or not.
Body Shaming exists amongst both men and women. It can be as simple as a comment such as
"Tulisa's bloated lips look terrible"
to
"Leo is piling on the pounds on a Beer Gut"

Apparently we live in a world where we have to made to look like perfect models that are usually only "perfected" via airbrushing. If life was as easy as that, then instagram filters would work in real life and everyone would look via Nashville or Walden.

The #BodyUNashamed movement is something I wouldn't usually get involved with, but I totally agree that sometimes us mere mortals struggle to live up to the non-existent expectations of having a perfect body and soul. The idea is to simply, in a nutshell, help and motivate each other in believing and knowing that, even though you may not have the abs of Cameron Diaz or the six pack of David Beckham, you are still an awesome person and there are parts of your body that shine.

As a man hitting his 30's I have actually spent the last 15 years of my life "Overweight" coming across stocky and in many cases bloated! Only recently have I looked at myself hitting 18 stone! (Yes 18!) and thought this has to change. So simple, started eating better and drinking less. After a few weeks I am now 17 stone and continue to lose more in order to make myself happy, nobody else......plus my little boy is getting active and need to keep up.
I am happy with who I am, parts of me I would change, I mean all men want to look like Beckham or Bradley Cooper, but again if you strive to be somebody else, you lose who YOU are.

Anyway, #BodyUNashamed gave me another blogger to give my praise to. As part of the movement, one thing you do is compliment a complete stranger who is also part of #BodyUNashamed and remind them that they are simply awesome.

I was given @SuggestDigest somebody who I had never spoken to before. So I had to look at her blog/twitter and find 3 things about her which I find amazing.

1. Now this Young lady doesn't have many actual photos of her online, and to be fair I am just a stranger so I wouldn't expect to find many so easily, but her pic on her blog http://suggestivedigestive.com shows she has a beautiful face. Now, the one problem with a guy having a girl as his #BodyUNashamed pair up is I can easily come across as I am hitting on her. BUT I think she has a beautiful face. It's simple.

2. She wears glasses! Glasses are cool and can make, in my opinion, girls look sexy. Glasses have become more fashionable over the years and this young lady rocks them in her profile pic. Never be afraid to wear glasses if you have to. If you have to wear glasses to see better then do it, regardless of whether you think you look silly, because frankly that's stupid. As a kid I kind of wanted glasses, so I could look like Clark Kent.

3. I know this isn't a "body" compliment but I have read through her tweets and blog posts and love the way she writes. Her writing has great personal flair with it and makes it easier to connect with. I would so, go out and have a drink with this girl and chit chat about dogs and what not.

So there you go, a post that makes me sound a little bit creepy..............I am not a creep......I swear......Come back

If you want to get involved with the #BodyUNashamed movement then you can! here is Step No.1:

"Be yourself. Love yourself."

You'll NEVER be Jessica Rabbit, so STOP IT! Be YOU!!

What more do you want me to say?

Why TUSK is making me proud to be a Podcaster

by

We have all seen "The Human Centipede" right?....No?....Well we know the whole premise right?.....No?....Mad Man decides to surgically connect people together to create a Human-like centipede, simply because he is sick in the head.....No? Not interested? I hear you, I mean it must take a messed up individual to come up an idea like that...........

So, we all Know Kevin Smith right?.....Yeah?....The Guy who made "Clerks" "Dogma" "Zack and Miri Make a Porno" and even "Jersey Girl".....Yeah, that's it, the funny guy who does podcasts.......Well he is making a film where a Mad Man decides to surgically turn a Man into a Walrus.............Yes, you read that right!
TUSK is the latest Kevin Smith film, and there's no Snootchie Bootchies in sight. Why not watch the Trailer below and be blown away by this concept.

Looks pretty cool, huh? In | #NOTlistening Ep.143 - TUSK #WalrusYES | myself and Billy sat down and watched the trailer that led to a discussion on how Kevin Smith managed to come up with a messed up idea for a film. Take a Listen now and hear in depth what we said

If you are a podcast fan, and especially if you listen to Smodcast, you might be aware that this film is possibly ( I say possibly because I haven't been bothered to doubt check) the FIRST film that was entirely concieved from a Podcast discussion. This film could read at the start, instead of "Based on the Book/Play/TV Series", of the movie
"Based on a Podcast Episode"

As a Podcaster this fills me with glee!....yeah I said Glee! Big Whoop wanna fight about it?.....This is like watching a film that was shot at a location you have been to. How many times have you watched a film and been "Oh My God! I've been there! Scarlett Johanson is standing in the exact spot I stood in!".......No, just me?.......Shut up! I bet you all do it without realising.
Because this film is based on a podcast chat it kind of makes myself, a fellow podcaster......PRESS PLAY DAMMIT...thank you, it makes my feel like I am part of something that is slowly reaching new levels. Will this mean I will move along with them? Maybe not, but it's nice the term "podcast" is slowly becoming recognisable to more people.

Also stars Hayley Joel Osment!! #WHOOOO!
I personally can't wait to see this film. Being a Big Kevin Smith fan anyway it's obvious I will be supporting his projects, but THIS one in particular has me excited for many reasons.

Anyway, Watch the Trailer, Listen to the podcast and let me know what you think......of both the trailer and my dam podcast!........I'd love to hear from you.
