The #Disney TAG! | #NOTreading

by
Dis'ney Do Well!?

I have been TAGGED! I have done a few tags on here and even filmed a few last year, back when I tried to get on the You Tube bandwagon, but then kind of stopped because I couldn't be arsed. For somebody who does a lot of online stuff for the website, I can be very lazy if my hearts not in it.

Anyway, I got Tagged to this #Disney TAG by the very sweet and  lovely Christina from http://christinacampbellhughes.blogspot.co.uk/ and on Twitter @christinachug. I have chatted to Christina on twitter a few times and she has always threatened to tag me in blog posts, and now she has. So here it goes....

Favourite Disney film?
I have never actually thought about this before, as there are so many to choose from. I could be really sneaky and say "The Avengers" because technically Marvel is owned by Disney and that makes this a Disney film!......but if I have to follow the "unwritten rule" and pattern of these posts I shall say..."Mary Poppins". LOVE this film, LOVE the music and it reminds me of when I was a child growing up in 1910 London......oh wait......thats the movie!.....I love to Laugh!
#CorBlimeyMaryPoppins

Favourite Disney character?
This is a tough one because at the time of writing this I am seriously struggling to think up one. I suppose my all time Favourite Disney character is the "original" incarnation of Mickey Mouse.....STEAM BOAT WILLY!.
Why? I don't know. Maybe it is the whole nostalgic feeling that this is what started it all and I have always loved the whistling short he came from. Plus I have my own Steamboat Willy Statue for some reason.
#SteamBoatWillyLove

Favourite Disney princess?
I am not 100% up on princess names and knowledge, but I guess I would have to pick Elsa from "Frozen" simply because I know if she existed in real life she'd be the most beautiful woman in the entire universe!!

Hang on!! #BeautyInReality

Rather be Aurora or Cinderella?
Aurora! Because she get's to sleep for ages, and since I have had a son I miss being able to sleep in. Plus she get's to hang around with Angelina Jolie with wings! (Maleficent)
#AngieWings

Rather be Hercules or Tarzan?
Hercules! Tarzan is far to homo-erotic for me and all that talking to animals is a bit out there. Hercules is a fucking God!
#NuffSaid

Rather be Lizzie McGuire or Raven Baxter?
I don't know who Raven is, so I'd pick Lizzie McGuire!........Plus Hilary Duff nowadays is looking buff!
#InstaModel

Favourite Disney song?
"Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins! Best Song Ever! I have played it plenty of times on my Radio Show and gives me goosebumps every time.
#ClassicSongAboutKites

Which Disney character would be your best friend?
Mickey Mouse. He holds the power! He has the key to city. Best friends with him means I get to share the power and never work a day in my life.
#MicelyDone

Which Disney character would be your pet?
Goofy! Because it's about time Goofy got treated like a dog, just like Pluto has been all his life. Why should Goofy get to live a normal life whilst Pluto is tied up outside?! I would make Goofy my new pet and let Pluto have a family.
#TimesUpGoofy

Have you ever been to Disneyland?
Is Disneyland the Paris one? if so then NO! BUT I have been to Disney World in Orlando about 3 times!....and I plan to go again! I am not even sorry about that!
#SorryNOTsorry

So, that's it! I am tagging EVERYONE that reads this and I'll personally tweet people on Twitter soon too. Please leave comments below on what you think and once you fo the tag, post the links too, or tweet them to me @BarkerPODcasts

Leonard Nimoy, Sir Terry Pratchett & Sam Simon RIP | #NOTwatching #42

by

On this week's show we say goodbye to some people who indirectly or not had a great impact on all our lives. Leonard Nimoy, known to most as Mr. Spock from the Star Trek movies, Sir Terry Pratchett, one of the most prolific Fantasy writers of all time and Sam Simon, the co-creator of The Simpsons. Combined, they make for one hell of a loss to world of Showbiz, so it's only right we pay tribute. There's also a whole bunch of TV news, we've not yet covered since last time, including some interesting casting news for the next season of American Horror Story and Warner Bros' new Supergirl show, premiere dates for some upcoming Netflix shows and some notable time-shifts for the next installments of Sherlock and Homeland. All this and much much more on another TV news-packed #NOTwatching Podcast!

Also please note - we were joined by Marcus for the recording of this show, but due to technical issues his track was unusable. So apologies for the brief running time of this episodes as well as any dodgy edits - a lot of this show ended up on the cutting room floor!

#NOTdeveloping Special including Valve & HTC's Vive, GDC & SWVR | #NOTplaying #69

by

Frequent listeners to this show may have noticed over the past 60 something episodes that some of us have become as enamored with the business of making games as we are about playing them, so we thought it would be rude not to devote an episode to some of the exciting news that came out of GDC earlier this month. The major highlight would have to be Valve & HTC's new VR system, Vive, which promises to beat Oculus Rift to the consumer marketplace, but there were also some major software announcements, most notably that the latest versions of Unity and Unreal Engine would be going free to... work? Meanwhile at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Samsung unveiled their latest range of flagship Galaxy phones with accompanying Gear VR accessories. It looks like VR isn't going away any time soon... all this and more on a special #NOTdeveloping edition of the #NOTplaying Podcast!

The Really Reel Show #42 | Emily Graves: A Farewell to a Radio Buddy | #NOTradio

by
Time to Say Goodbye to a Friend!...

(The Podcast above contains edited version - No Music)
In this Episode of "The Really Reel Show" Adam manages to get ONE last Really Reel Show with Emily Graves before she left CCR to follow her dreams of becoming a legend in life.
The Two discuss her love of Disney, Frozen Fever and send Emily off in the usual Really Reel Style
All This and much more...

(The RRS version below contains the whole show with Music)

Recording with Emily was quite sad, as during my time at CCR, I feel like I made a great friend in Emily. It felt like I have lost a big part of my enthusiasm now that she won't be involved with CCR anymore, and I wonder who I can bug with silly questions and random requests! Emily is such an inspiration, not only to me, but to many women out there who are ambitious, creative and wanting to better themselves and helping others. I hope I keep in touch with Emily long past CCR and we stay good friends.

The Guest, Taken 3, The Interview & more | #NOTwatching #41

by

On this week's show we get down to the business of discussing some movies we've actually seen! Leading the pack would have to be Adam Wingard's The Guest, which is a glorious homage to the ultra-violence of 80s cinema. We also share our thoughts on the latest iteration of the Liam Neeson 'Taken' franchise, the PR spectacle that was 'The Interview' and the final installment of Peter Jackson's Hobbit trilogy. It's all about the movies on this week's #NOTwatching Podcast!

The Really Reel Show #41 | Reshma Madhi | #NOTradio

by
What do you mean you can't hear me?!...

In this Episode of "The Really Reel Show" Adam is joined by CCR Local View Show Presenter Reshma Madhi. They discuss her 3 favourite movies, Films that she loved as a child and Kevin Bacon.
Also more RRS News and plenty of games such as Going in Blind and The Half Time Report.
All This and much more...

Recording with Reshma was a good laugh. She has a very cool, calm and dry sense of humour that really sits well with my style of hosting and I thoroughly enjoyed recording with her. Check her show out on CCR.

Crowdfunding round-up including Molyneux's Godus meltdown, Kingdom Come: Deliverance & Underworld Ascendant | #NOTplaying #68

by

A promise from Peter Molyneux is something we've begun to value less and less over the years, yet his child-like optimism can still charm the most cynical of us. This was really put to the test a few week's back in the wake of a couple of press interviews that probably did even more damage than the controversy he was seeking to address. Now with the dust settling, here's our take on the unmitigated disaster, albeit with a few more positive crowd-funding stories for good measure, not least of these being the success of Otherside Entertainment's resurrection of the (Ultima) Underworld series with Underworld Ascendant. We also check in on Shadowrun: Hong Kong and Kingdom Come: Deliverance and finally, in what is essentially a teaser for next week's episode, there's a bit of chat about the recently changed VR landscape and how Valve's recently announced VIVE hardware fits into it...

Molyneux Meltdown

Shadowrun: Hong Kong kickstarter concludes at $1.2m

Kingdom Come: Deliverance - 1 year later

Underworld Ascendant - Otherside Entertainment (Made up of ex Looking Glass/Naughty Dog/Bioware/Irrational) want $600,000 to make the next Ultima Underworld game

J-Lo getting short? | #Mashion & #Meauty

by
Where's the Rest of the Dress?

Hold the press! Jennifer Lopez was spotted recently at thing for that American Idol thingy over in the USA. The Latino beauty, who is 45 years old, is showing off that body of hers like a kid at Christmas who just got the first bike on the street. J-Lo made women all over the world throw their dinner at the screens and rush to the gym to get a body like that.

J-Lo graced the event in, what can only be described as a dress, so short, it's actually just a long (ish) t shirt. J-Lo showed off those youthful legs of hers and reminded every ex she's ever had that she was a catch and you are missing out.... Unless she dumped them...... I don't know.....she could be horrible to live with for all I know.

Do ladies get jealous of other ladies older than them that have legs like this?

How do you get legs like this?

How is she divorced 3 times?

So what do you think? too much leg? can there ever be too much leg? Should she cover up? should she dress more subtly? Should we tell her the bottom of her dress has fallen off somewhere?

So there you go! Hope you enjoyed this, if not.....tough shit. Check out all the other #Mashion Posts here:

Spiderman joins the MCU! | #NOTwatching #40

by
If there's a bigger and more gratifying piece of movie news this year then 2015 will end up being a fine vintage indeed. When Sony and Disney broke the news that they would be 'co-operating' on the next installment of the Spiderman franchise a few weeks back, you must have heard the whooping from Space. Not only does this save Sony's floundering efforts to create their own 'Cinematic Universe' - it also means that Spidey gets to play with Stark, Rogers, Banner & Co in future Marvel movies, likely starting with the already 'Avengers-like' Civil War in 2016. In this episode, we examine the finer points of the 'deal' and investigate the implications of a post Raimi/McGuire/Webb/Garfield Spiderman franchise...

Spidey can be in MCU now!

Garfield didn't want to come back?

Might be Miles Morales... whoever that is?

More (speculative) casting options

Early candidates for Peter Parker/Miles Morales

Marvel didn't pay a dime to Sony

New Phase 3 release dates to make room for new MCU Spiderman Movie in 2017

Dani Thompson | Real Werewolves and Drag Queens | #JESSsaying

by
Actress Dani Thompson Talks Werewolves and Drag Queens....

Hey there! Welcome to a new blog post thing on this website thingy. I am Jess! aka #JESSsaying and the #NOTlistening website have let me get involved and do a few things for them on the site. My First post is an interview I had with the bloody gorgeous Dani Thompson. We sat down and discussed her new movies, modelling and why she wants to be a man, so she can become a Drag Queen.
Enjoy.

Hello Danielle! How are you today?
I am good thanks, Oh only my Mum calls me Danielle when she's angry, it's Dani.

Oh, I get that. Only my Gynecologist calls me Jessica and that's when he's annoyed with me for closing my legs randomly. Anyway, hows your day going?
It's good, got lots to do actually, write scripts, write press releases and more. I'm a busy girl today.

Ok, fab!. So you are a talented writer/producer, Beautiful Model and Gorgeous Actress! Don't you think that's unfair on girls like me who can't get any work?
No way! You have to work hard for your work. You have to go out there and make things for yourself. Nobody hands it to you on a plate

Ok Give me some tips then.
Well I started modelling, glamour modelling and got some jobs in film and loved being on set, so went to drama school and worked hard from there. Theres not really any tips, you just have to train hard and work hard really.

Well, I'm quite lazy so I can't be bothered to do all that. I'll wait for somebody to hand it to me on a plate or maybe just sleep my way to the top. So, what films you working on now?
At the moment I'm working on a werewolf movie I have written called "Bad Moon Rising". We've all been working over the past weekends. We are all having such a great time on set for the first weekend and hope it continues for the rest of the shoot.
Also I am working on a film soon called "The Retreat" where I am filming in Orkney, so packing my thermals for sure, which is exciting. Can't wait for that plus a film called "The Last Reverents" so hopefully I'll be working hard and be busy for the rest of the year.

I feel bad for being lazy now, that's great work chick!
Don't be lazy! You know when you sleep in till 12 noon, thats bad enough for me. I feel like I've wasted half the day when that happens.

So, In this werewolf film, are you using real werewolves to play the werewolves?
No, it's real werewolves. Last year I was filming in Bulgaria and managed to grab some from there, totally humanely, I'm a vegetarian after all. They say never work with Animals or Children but werewolves are pretty good to work with. I love dogs, so they are kind of similar

I heard they can be quite "Divaish" since the twilight movies came out.
They can but as long as you sprinkle them with glitter regularly they are fine. They are actually good workers.

I read about your involvement in another film called "Axe to Grind". What is Axe to grind? Sounds terrifying
"Axe to Grind" was shot in LA in 2013, so it takes a while to get to distribution. It had its UK film premiere in January, as well as my film "Serial Kaller",so they are both out now. which is very exciting.

When writing, do you like to write characters for you that are very similar to the way you are?
Well, it depends, when I wrote "Serial Kaller" it was based on the world of glamour modelling, that I was in at the time. I used to do that kind of stuff, so was easier to write for. In "Bad Moon Rising" the character I play is quite a Diva, which I am not but I do like my luxuries. I don't like getting my hair wet etc. so I played on them and made them more. Other characters in there are like a Gi Jane type played by a girl who is quite sporty and there's a kooky character who think a lot, so the personalities can resemble the characters and actors playing them.

Do you like writing Strong Independent Women characters
I do, I love having an on screen fight, and I do a lot of horror. Although, you may think I take women back 20 years, but I do like a man to be a gentleman and girls to be girlie too.....I am losing my train of thought here.....but I enjoy making horror films, there are half naked women running away from a killer and there are teenage boys that love that sort of thing, but I do love that there are strong roles for women, although I am such a girlie girl at heart.

I remember finding out about you, after discovering you on my Ex-Boyfriends Download History
Yeah that happens (laughs)

I am now more of a fan myself, but I am jealous of how you got into modelling. I mean I have tried and tried, but all I ever got was Ugandan agents wanting my details via skype. I lost a lot of money on those investments and wasted good time and effort doing auditions via skype!
Modelling has changed since I was involved. The money is not there as much, I don't think. A lot of money was to be made back then and the whole magazine industry is now different. Most things are free on the internet, so I am kind of glad I did it when I did. I had a lot of fun and was a bit of a party girl back then, maybe not working as hard as I could.

Ok, Girl! Let's talk fashion! Talk to me about your party attire.
Oh god, I actually studied fashion before modelling and could have gone down the costume design route. If I go out I love a little dress, maybe show a bit of leg. Lots of sequin.

I let it all out! I am from Essex so with enough fake tan I stay warm all year round. It works as an insulator you know.
Is that true?

Yeah, if you wear enough. Ok here are some Quick Fire Questions.

Skirts or Trousers?
Depends on the season

Heels or Flats?
Heels

Brows or Lips?
Lips, I have semi permanent brows tattooed so they don't go anywhere but I'd never leave the house without a red lipstick.

Hair Up or Hair Down?
Down

Natural Skin tone or Fake Tan?
Natural, I hate fake tan

Ok Steady on! Essex Girl here! Ok, Now, give me the first thoughts that come into your head from these topics.

Horror
Blood

Reality TV
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Kitten Heels
Pointless

Brad Pitt
Old enough to be my Dad

Katie Hopkins
Who?

The Oscars
Hollywood glamour

Drag Queens
Love them, always wanted to be one!

You've always wanted to be a Drag queen? How does that work?
Oh my god! I love them! They are so glamourous! I have always wanted to be one. I did a show with them once and it was all very camp and I loved it. I am totally a Gay Man in a womans body. They are amazing. If I was a Man, I would be one.

Ok Fair enough hun, So before I leave you, can you tell me what else you are working on?
I am currently writing a book right now, it's kind of a guide on how to be a glamour model. It's very funny and right up your street I am sure.

Thank you Dani for the chat, all the best for the future and stay beautiful.

Chatting with Dani was a total blast. This Australian born, London living beauty has the world at her feet, whilst I sit living in a one bedroom apartment in Essex with my cat, who eats his own poo. I envy women like this, but I also respect and admire them too. Like my Mum said to me
"Jessica! Life is only as good as you make it......So marry a rich man and let him make it for you"
My Mum is a drunk and five time divorcee......anyway. Lovely chat, please check her links out and look out for this girl. She's a stunner.

Until next time readers........Don't wear too much lipstick if you plan to eat a banana...... #JESSsaying

*Thank you to Actress Dani Thompson for agreeing to participate in this post. The Interview was audio recorded and then transcribed and edited down for reading purposes. Thank you again for the co-operation of Dani and for being a good sport throughout. The interview included many elements included for comic value as well as the fictitious character of #JESSsaying. None of this post was created without the consent of Miss Dani Thompson*

Banshee, Broadchurch & Black Mirror | #NOTwatching #39

by
In the interest of full disclosure, this episode was recorded several weeks ago, but in this culture of box-set binging, that might well be for the best, since you're more likely to be caught up on all the wonderful TV we have to discuss on this show. First up, we talk about all the great Christmas TV brought to us by the insane genius of Charlie Brooker - and by that we mean the only TV worth watching over the seasonal period seemed to be penned and/or presented by him i.e. Black Mirror - White Christmas. On a more timely note, we crack into the latest seasons of Banshee, Justified and Broadchurch, which Rob managed to catch up on, along with entirety of Aaron Sorkin's the Newsroom and the quite depressing 'The Missing'. All this and more on a super TV catchup edition of the #NOTwatching Podcast!
