Our Movies of 2019 inc. Avengers: Endgame, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Wild Rose & more! | #NOTwatching

by

We know it's a bit late, but there were a number of things from 2019 that we needed to get to before we put together our end-of-the-year lists, so this week, we're talking about our favourite movies of 2019, a few things we still haven't got round to yet and then a few things we're looking forward to in 2020. We'll be back in a few weeks to do more or less the same thing for TV, by which time you'll no doubt be stuck underneath a pile of new stuff, such is the relentless volume of content we have to deal with these days. Oh and Happy New Year, if that's still an appropriate greeting this far into it?

Blah with.....Jennie Lawson from Mimosa Beauty| Blah Blah Land Podcast S1 03

In this Episode of BLAH BLAH LAND I was so excited to sit down and chat to someone who I have wanted to chat to for a while now. Jennie Lawson is the owner of "Mimosa Beauty" in Chelmsford, Essex and she has built her beauty salon from the ground up to be regarded as one of the most innovative brands in the beauty industry. Jennie, and her colleagues, have worked tirelessly to run a ECO - INNOVATION focused salon, where sustainability and the environment are huge factors and driving forces behind the success. A few ways they do this are....

- Buying British to cut down on their carbon footprint
- Being 100% landfill free
- Eco friendly washing and also an Eco-Friendly building.

You can, and should, check out their website Mimosa Beauty

"The truth is, we believe that every single person is beautiful, and it’s our deepest joy to help people see themselves like we see them: gorgeous, inside and out." - A Quote taken from their website.

I sat down and spoke to Jennie and I must admit, she did not disappoint. Her open, raw and honest nature to her life and business is refreshing in this day and age. There is a sense of authenticity with her and I sat back and listened to every single word she dropped. She spent the majority of the chat feeling like I was learning and being educated on a world I feel guilty for not paying too much attention to. This podcast was very much an eye opener for me.

Also, as we discuss in the podcast, Jennie has created an online sanctuary to help inspire and motivate people to enhance and embrace their own beauty and learn more self care. Check out the website and join! There is so much to take from this chat. An Online sanctuary is a perfect haven for those looking for some guidance.

The subjects we touch upon, highlight where I envision the podcast to go moving forward. It is a relaxed discussion with opinions that might not always be shared between listeners but valid none the less. I want to maintain open and honest conversations where everyone involved feels a part of it and included.

Bringing on the Blah | Blah Blah Land Podcast

by

What is Bring on the Blah anyway?

I remember about 8 years ago, I started the whole #NOTlistening world (well the ODDcast PODcast world as it started) as a place to podcast and "be funny" with my mates. I started it all as a way to drink beer and chat "shit" whilst being ultra edgy.........Something I regret listening back to some of the stuff that we tried to discuss. All this was done during my late 20's and during a time when I wasn't exactly in the greatest of headspaces as it was. I was struggling with my mental health and I didn't even realise.

The Podcast actually helped me, to a point, where I was able to spend time with my friends and meet new people, but it also led to a deeper issue where I became pressured to deliver, to be funny and to create something that wouldn't get badly critiqued.......It did! quite a few times and I don't blame them to be fair.
Anyway, Along with the who #NOTlistening world, which has blossomed and found it's voice over the years, I tired my hand at blogging and trying to be edgy and controversial with that.......again some of the stuff I wrote I look back and "sigh" and also it led me down a path that opened me up to a perception I wasn't happy with..........I am blabbing right now, I will get to the point of this post soon, trust me.

So after several years of growth and self - development I started to find my feet again and where I wanted to go with any of my creative endeavours. During my podcasting days I managed to interview and talk to some bloody interesting people, people that I enjoyed talking to and hearing what they had to say! This was something I wanted to do more of.
So in 2019 I came up with the idea of a podcast that wasn't for the "laughs" it was a passion project for me to sit down and chat with people I find interesting. People I look up to. People that I believe to empower and inspire people. I wanted to do a podcast where I felt the positivity and happiness from their life and attitude. I created the Podcast "Blah Blah Land"

The Podcast is still new and very raw, but 2020 I have more ideas and people lined up to chat to. These people don't have to be big name celebs, these are every day people living their best life. These people have something to say and if it can reach a small handful of people then I am extremely happy with that.
This Podcast wasn't created as a ratings, hits and downloads winner. if that happened, bonus, but I didn't want to fall back into the pressure of trying to be a podcast that fought for listeners. This was my passion project that I can do "my thing" and indulge in others happiness.
